2 years ago, after many times feeling uncomfortable, during the examination, Mr. Pham Huu Nong (born in 1970) - Ms. Chinh's husband - received a thunderbolt when the doctor announced: Cancer (K) of the colon in the late stage. Ms. Be Chinh put aside her job as a fish processing worker for export to take care of her husband.

Without much savings, to have money to take her husband to medical facilities for treatment with the faint hope of "while there's life, there's hope", she gritted her teeth and sold 6 cong of rice land (1,000m2/cong), which is not only the rice pot, but also the most precious asset of the family.

However, after only 1 year and 8 months of going back and forth to treatment facilities, Mr. Nong permanently passed away. With no land left for burial, Mrs. Chinh had to cremate her husband and then bring the ashes into the house for storage.

Before she could recover from the pain and irreparable loss of a wife's life, disaster struck the thin shoulders of the woman about to enter the age of 50 (born in 1977).

Exactly 3 months after seeing her husband off to the afterlife, Ms. Chinh was informed by doctors that her diabetes had entered a complication phase. After a period of seeing her body abnormal when her hands and feet continuously appeared numbness and swelling, pain... she went to private medical facilities for examination and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. But the more she treated, the worse the disease became, she was taken by her son to Dong Thap General Hospital, where they said that the diabetes had entered a complication phase and needed surgery to remove her leg.

The ultimate misery, suffering

Ms. Chinh has 3 children, the eldest son works as a worker in Ho Chi Minh City, and the daughter has a husband working as a street vendor at rural markets. The youngest daughter is only 7 years old, and usually lives with her mother. When she is sick, she has to follow her sister on a truck carrying goods, causing her to often "worry about going in and out"...

More cruelly, right at the time of surgery, her health insurance card expired. "When I received this information, I felt like the sky and earth collapsed, because having to pay 100% of the costs was too much for the family's ability," Mr. Pham Hung - Ms. Chinh's eldest son - recalled.

After temporarily paying the company 2 months' salary, Mr. Hung ran around borrowing money from relatives and then filed a petition to the leaders of Tan My commune to mobilize philanthropists to provide additional support. Just having managed to get the money, Ms. Be Chinh continued to receive new bad news: a ulcer longer than 1 inch appeared on her back. She had to undergo surgery to cut and stitch...

Bà Bé Chính đang điều trị tại nhà trong tình trạng sức khỏe đáng lo ngại. Đã hơn 10 tháng nhưng vết cắt chi vẫn còn tươm nước vàng. Ngay cả việc tự ngồi dậy, bà cũng cần có sự trợ giúp.
